This non-influential grassroots network of teenagers and Gen-Debtors diligently points out that Congressman Adam Kinzinger is not running in the new 2nd district. This is disappointing and Congressman Adam Kinzinger is abdicating conservative leadership here in Illinois and in Washington. Congressman Adam Kinzinger could have spread the message of fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free markets to a district that has been under the thumb of Congressman Jessie Jackson Jr. and the democrats for decades.
This is the man, Congressman Jessie Jackson Jr., who Congressman Adam Kinzinger should have ran against in 2012, not Congressman Don Manzullo.
Yes, the 2nd district is heavily democrat – but then again so is the 8th district.
Congressman Adam Kinzinger decided instead of challenging a democrat and try to add a seat to the republican majority in the US House, he would take on the third most conservative congressman in the state of Illinois – Congressman Don Manzullo.
One has to ask themselves – did that tea party congressman who is currently serving in the 8th congressional district primary another republican or did this congressman display leadership? Say what you want about tea party Congressman Joe Walsh, after briefly flirting with the idea of primarying fellow republican Congressman Randy Hultgren, Congressman Joe Walsh moved to challenge a democrat to be determined in the democratic leaning 8th district.
This is what we expect from tea party congressmen and women.
Congressman Adam Kinzinger has backed down from the challenge of running against Congressman Jessie Jackson Jr. wo is weak and vulnerable this election cycle. Congressman Adam Kinzinger refused to spread conservatism to a district that so desperately needs it.
